STEM Exploration Weekend gives Kappa Leaguers a dynamic, hands-on look into physics, engineering, and space science. At iFLY, students apply concepts like gravity and lift through indoor skydiving and interactive STEM lessons. At the Kennedy Space Center, they explore NASA technology, space missions, and real-world innovations. This experience not only reinforces classroom learning but also exposes Leaguers to STEM careers.
From lift-off to life on Mars
During STEM Applied Learning Weekend, Leaguers learned by doing from start to finish.
On the first day, they took part in the iFLY STEM Experience, where they completed their flights and participated in a hands on lab that connected the science behind flight to what they experienced in the air.
The second day took them to the Kennedy Space Center, where they explored the history of space travel and saw how past missions connect to today’s technology and future exploration.
On the final day, Leaguers stepped into a Mars Base simulation, working as a team to manage life on another planet. They grew crops, programmed robots, managed energy, and solved problems in real time.
Throughout the weekend, they were challenged to think, adapt, and work together, showing that STEM is not just something you learn about, but something you experience.
