Welcome to the official home of the Kappa League of Fort Lauderdale!
My name is David King, and I am honored to serve as President of the Fort Lauderdale Kappa League. This Kappa League is an organization built on the foundation of leadership, academic achievement, and community service. We are a village and it is our duty to uphold a standard of excellence that pushes us to be better men each and every day.
This website is your window into our journey and our commitment to that very excellence. Kappa Youth Leadership and Development League

We are a leadership and development institute guided by the Development Through Empowerment Doctrine and executed through established program standards. Through structured learning, experiential programming, and progressive leadership responsibility, the program equips young men with the skills and discipline required for college, career, and civic life.

A Structured Leadership Institute

Kappa League of Fort Lauderdale is a standards-based youth leadership institute that develops academic readiness, civic responsibility, and leadership capacity through structured instruction, experiential learning, and progressive responsibility.
Participants advance through a defined developmental framework designed to cultivate accountability, discipline, and long-term success.
Development Through Empowerment Doctrine

Kappa League of Fort Lauderdale operates under the Development Through Empowerment Doctrine. This framework empowers participants by placing responsibility, expectations, and leadership practices at the center of the learning experience.
Rather than passive participation, students advance through clearly defined standards and responsibilities that promote academic preparedness, civic awareness, ethical decision-making, and self-governance.

Kappa League delivers its programming through structured series designed to advance leadership development, postsecondary readiness, and civic engagement.
Civic Leadership & Governance Simulation Series
Student-led simulations and leadership exercises that develop civic understanding, public decision-making, and ethical leadership.
Kappa Kamp: Immersive Leadership & Development Series
Multi-day immersive experiences designed to strengthen teamwork, resilience, wellness, and leadership under structured conditions.
STEM & Career and Technical Education Exploration Series
Hands-on exposure to STEM fields and technical careers through experiential learning and site-based engagement.
Leadership, Postsecondary Readiness & Financial Literacy Series
Programming focused on structured leadership development, post-secondary preparedness, and financial literacy.
All series are implemented in alignment with the Development Through Empowerment Doctrine and established program standards.
