Hello from the President!

My name is Lucas Lara, and I gladly welcome you to the official Kappa League website! This chapter of Kappa League provides a place for young men to grow and develop their academic and leadership skills through various events, community service, and educational meetings. We’re a family, watching each other's backs as well as pushing each other to reach greater heights together every day.

This website provides everything you’ll need to know about our program, including our recent endeavors, upcoming events, and our members of this award-winning Kappa League. From our varying trips to exploration sites to immersive activities, each experience our leaguers engage in leaves them a seedling of greatness that grows with time. We’re not only making men, we’re making courageous characters that will lead us into the future.

2025–2026 School Year Highlights

  • Aviation and Flight Operations Day (Apr. '26)

    Leaguers visited Miami Air Traffic Control. They were introduced to the operations of the airspace, how aircraft are coordinated, and the level of focus and precision required to do the job effectively.

  • Model African Union (Mar. '26)

    Each Leaguer represented an African country as its Minister of Education, researching challenges and preparing a speech on how education can shape a country’s future.

  • Venture Capital Summit (Feb. '26)

    Each Leaguer was given a “masked” company and had to present a plan to an Investment Panel without knowing the real company behind it. They asked for funding, explained their strategy, and defend every choice.

  • STEM Applied Learning Weekend (Jan. '26)

    Over the course of 3 days, Leaguers took part in the iFLY STEM Experience, visited the Kennedy Space Center, and experienced in the Mars Base simulation.

  • Applied Aviation and Flight Day (Jan. '26)

    Leaguers learned about different careers in aviation, got up close with real training aircraft., and used simulators to test their skills flying a Cessna 172, an F-16, and a helicopter.

  • Turkey Give-away (Nov. '25)

    In collaboration with Pompano Beach Kappa League, Leaguer gave out over 150 turkeys and baskets to families in the Golden Acres Community.

  • Kappa Kamp: Convivia (Nov. '25)

    Joined with West Palm Beach and Pompano Beach Kappa Leagues, Leaguers participated in a 3 day camp learning about Attitude, Tying Ties, Dressing Professionally, and more.

  • Mock Legislature (Oct. '25)

    Kappa Leagues from Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties came together to participate in a Mock State Legislature to debate local issues.

  • 40th Coastal Clean-up (Sept. '25)

    Kappa Leaguers showed up strong for the 40th Annual Coastal Cleanup at Dr. Von D. Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park.

  • Black Men in Tech THRIVE Conference (Oct. '25)

    Leaguers participated in interactive workshops on Gaming and Evolving Technology. Thereafter, they participated in a Lunch & Learn session.

  • Broward Partnership Visit (Aug '25)

    The Executive Cabinet visited the Broward Partnership Fort Lauderdale Center to help give meals to unhoused members of the community.

  • Broward Judicial Complex Visit (Jul. '25)

    Broward Judicial Complex Visit (Jul. '25)

    Leaguer visited the Broward Judicial Complex and met with judges within the Juvenile and Domestic Violence Divisions. Thereafter, they had lunch with the Assistant City Attorney of Pompano Beach.

  • Port of Palm Beach (Jul. '25)

    Kappa Leaguer visited the Port of Palm Beach to learn more about Global Trade and its economic impact.
